Simple arithmetic shows that this figure represents more than $370 for every man, woman, and child in the county, as compared to the $30 asked by treasury officials for the drive. We believe this should be a national record. More significant than this, however, is the fact tha the sales of Series E savings bonds exceeded $8.30,000 which is more than double the allocation of thi3 type of bonds assigned to the county in its quota. Cache was the first county in the state to reach its E bond quota and bond officials have reason to believe that this achievement will be regional if not national notice. One of the chief purposes of war financing through bond sales is to draw off excess income and purchasing power and thus defeat inflation sales of E bonds help do this. Congratulations also are in order to E. T. Ralphs, executive vice chairman of the county war finance e director of the drive. committee, who acted as Mr. Ralphs devoted many hours to the drive, working early and late, covering the entire county. His organization of more than 400 volunteer workers also was effective. To all of Cache countys bond buyers, the Cache American says Well Done. To our boys at the front we can report that you have hack their attack and that you stand steadfast in your determination to give similar support in the months to come. show.
