Thlg photo shows part of the new machinery installed at the Crystal Bottling company plant of Cache where refreshing soft drinks are manufactured to quench the thirst of the thousands Valley people. New Equipment Installed At Bottling Plant of app oximateiy Expenditures for new machinery alone have transformed the Logan plant of the Crystal Coca Cola, Bottling company into one of the best equipped planus of Its kind m the Intermountain region according to John A. Larsen, owner and manager of the plant. The machines have been so arranged that almost every operation of the plant may be viewed from the large windows Installed at the plant. Already they have attracted a great deal of attention, as passhave stopped to watch the ers-by interesting processes through which each bottle passes before It Is filbevled with the erage bottled at the plant. The largest of the six recently Is the Bottle Installed machines Washer in which the bottles are automatically cleaned and washed bottle passes Each and rinsed. through three different cleansing solutions in water at varied temperatures. Besides passing through these solution baths, each botUe Is automatically brushed on the inside and on the outside during the process each bottle goes through six different rinses of clean cold water so that it is thoroughly sterilized before being filled. From the washer the clean, sterilized bottle travels along a conveyer to the new low pressure filHere the right ling machine. amount of syrup is automatically placed in the bottle which then i stilled with pure carbonated water. The bottle Is then carried on the conveyor to the capper which automatically seals the bottle. Before the water goes to the carbonator, the water has gone through a refrigeration unit in which has been cooled to the right temperature so as to absorb more readily the carbonic gas. An interesting machine In the newly installed array at the Crystal Coca-CoBottling company is the beverage mixer. This machine turns each bottle automatically upside down so that the syrup and the carbonated water are thoroughly mixed. The conveyor then carries the bottle to the circular gathering table from where It receives final Inspection and Is placed in the cases ready to be sent out to the hundreds of retail soft drink places In the Cache Valley section. From the time the empty bottle is taken from the box and placed in the conveyor that carries it to the washer until the full capped bottle is taken from the gathering disc and placed in the case, human hands supervise but do not touch the bottle. Three new water filters have also been installed. These filter $32,000 thirst-quenchi- la It is with pride that the Crystal Coca-Col- a Bottling Company and the Motel Crystal welcomes their army of friends to inspect the new premises and facilities. These are equal, if not indeed, superior to the finest of their kind in the intermountain territory. In fact, in our opinion they have very few, if any, equals throughout the entire Pacific coast area. Neither time, effort nor money have been spared to make these two business homes worthy of the Cache Valley people whose faithful and loyal support have made the new ventures possible. Men and women, not machinery and equipment alone, build and develop institutions. The Crystal Coca-Col- a Bottling Company AND THE MOTEL CRYSTAL is justly proud of its family of employees, whose conscientious, loyal and devoted efforts over the years have resulted in these achievements. It is our ambition and sincere hope to con- tinue to merit the confidence and support of those it has been our privilege to serve and pledge that we will do everything in our power to advance the interests of our many good |
