Distressed Cases Handled Four car loads of cattle from points where feed had been exhausted in the county, were shipped out this week according to R. L. Wrigley, county agent. Two cars went from the territory around Paradise and Hyrum and two cars went from the territory in Logan, Smlthfield and Richmond. Juniors Entertain The Junior class, under James McMurren, president, presented the assembly at Logan Senior high school Wednesday morning. Two short speeches were given by Vincent Fredrick and Ruth Johnson assisted by Agnea Stewart. Gladvs Gesscl sang Cant You Ileah Me Callin' Caroline, accompanied by Marjorie Crockett. Marion Price read From Hars to Fritz" and the Box Car Symphony directed by Dennis Prows, played several selections. Special features were: two solos on the saw by Merrill Prows; a harmonica duet by Niles Hess and Grant Humphreys and a banjo solo by Clyde Olson. Prayers were offered by Loyal Cook. Mrs. Florence Hyde Park Iteusser and Infant son returned home Tuesday. Mrs. Iteusser and baby have spent two weeks at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mury Titensor of Logan. Mrs. Marie Jorgensen submitted to a major operation Monday morning at the Cache Valley hospital. Mrs. Jorgensen had her right leg amputated at the knee. The leg had to be severed because of a blood clot. She is reported to be Improving. Mrs. Bessie Balls returned home Monday from a short visit m Suit Lake City at the home of Mrs. Anna Wilde. Tile Ladies Literary club held tlieir first meeting of the winter season at tho home of Mrs. Sadie Hancey, Thursday afternoon. The drama, The Front Page by Ben Hecht and Chas. McArthur was read by Miss Inez Lee: harmonica selections by Miss Eilia Balls; reading by Mrs. Lillie McQuarrie. At the close of the afternoon a dainty luncheon was ser.ved to 10 club members and Mrs. Lenora s, Mrs. Florence Harris and Mrs. Gwen Miles of Smlthfield who were special guests. The Ladies Junior Literary club met at the home of Mrs. C. A. Webb Friday afternoon with Mrs. Naoma Perkes as hostess. A short story, acting The Barn at Geraldons by Bernice Brown was read by Mrs. Florence Perkes. Cards furnished the entertainment for the remainder of the afternoon. High score prize was won by Mrs. Jessie Burgess and an all cut prize was awarded to Mrs. Gertrude Perkes. Luncheon was served to 16 club members and the following special guests, Mrs. Menita Daines, Mrs. Andrea Lamb, Mrs. Gertrude Perkes, Mrs. Lillian Daines, Mrs. Lucretia Ashcroft, Mrs. Grace Perkes, Mrs. Lila Purser, Mrs. Elouise Webb and Mrs. Esta Brown of Hyrum. Many town hunters spent duck day in the marshes west of town. Because of a scarcity of water the hunters bagged only a few ducks. No one reported Bhooting their limit.
