The high winds caused the flames to spread rapidly and at one time the whole side of the mountain seemed ablaze. There were also two rather large fires on Logan river about four miles west of Logan near the Cow Lane in the vicinity of the Joseph Swaneveldt farm. These fires were in the brush along the river.
