We do not want war, we do not want blood shed, we do not want contention. What we want, according to Mr. Bell, is a just settlement of the rights between the holder of the mortgage and the man who originally owned the land. This would be an easy matter to settle if our legislatures, the men responsible for making our government laws, would see to it that the man who loaned the money to finance the farm, would take his depi edition along with the farmer who has made the land produce its utmost, but has not been able to con trol the prices of the commodity's he has produced. These prices hav not been sufficient to give enough revenue to pay the interest and taxes on the land and provide a living for the family. Mr. Bells appeal Is to our law makers. They should take these conditions serious. They should really study out a scheme whereby an equitable adjustment of the conditions can be brought about. He holds that he man who holds the mortgage. Is not the only one who has rights under these depressed times. The man who has devoted his time to making it possible for the people of this county to live, also has rights.
