Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Darlene Gilbert 190 AWARDED DIPLOMAS AT COMMENCEMENT WEDNESDAY 190 graduating seniors were a-warded a-warded diplomas in commencement exercises held at Bingham High School Wednesday night. For the graduates, who made a striking picture in their blue and white caps and gowns, graduation meant the completion of 12 years of study. Carrying out the graduation theme "Of Time and The Future" in talks were four student speakers Bonnie Jo Campbell, Dennis Despain, Sally Cillam and Billie Jean Champlin. Bill Sylvester, class president, welcomed parents and friends and introduced the theme. The invocation was offered by Connie Con-nie Lopez, and Linda Bills gave the benediction. Musical numbers included a song by a girls trio, Suellen Rasmussen, Cathy Culbartson and Sylvia Smith, soprano solo by Lora Humes, a number by a mixed double quartette, quartet-te, Kathy Poulsen, Suellen Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, Ardith Beckstead, Cathy Cul-bertson, Cul-bertson, Sylvia Smith, Rodney Bryant, Bry-ant, Taylor Chipman and Bill Sylvester, Syl-vester, also a number by a mixed ensemble, soprano solo by Polly Abplanalp, a number by a girls ensemble, en-semble, and the school hymn by the senior class. Organ prelude, processional and recessional music was played by Dennis Nichols and postlude organ music by Andrea Thompson. The class was presented by Principal Prin-cipal Joel P. Jensen and accepted by Supt. Reed H. Beckstead. Diplomas Dip-lomas were awarded by John Whea-don, Whea-don, member of the Board of Education.. Edu-cation.. A complimentary graduation dance was held in the gymnasium following the exercises. CLOSING ACTIVITIES Monday seniors received their report cards and a movie was shown in the afternoon. Also Monday, the awards assembly was held for the juniors and sophomores. Tuesday was senior sluff day and the juniors and sophomores received receiv-ed their report cards. ' Wednesday was yearbook day. |
