Show TABIONA Mrs. Thelma D. Nye School Notes Xhe Harvest Ball climaxed the Thanksgiving festivities at Tabi-onThe dance was held in the high school gym under the sponsorship of the Junior Class. Miss Karolee Richens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Richens, was crowned Harvest Queen. She is a Freshman at Tabiona High. Other candidates were Miss Kathy Van Tassell, Miss Yvonne Woolley and Miss Sheila Wagstaff. ...Parents Day at school was very successful with many parents attending and getting acquainted with the teachers and school curriculum. The elementary grades are now happily settled in their rooms in the new building, and we all join in hoping the new building will look as nice at the end of the school year as it does now. Some of the special features of the new school rooms include a wash basin in each room, and each room has its own , wardrobe closets for wraps. They also have individual library shelves, new type desks and chairs and a nice sand box and playhouse in the first grade room. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carlile and family were recent Heber visitors. . : ;? Mr. and Mrs. Dean Webb and Day family were Thanksgiving guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wright in Duchesne. BYU students who spent their Thanksgiving holidays with their families included Glenn Lewis, Red Floyd, Miss Sharon Hamilton, Bennett Josie and his wife and baby, Miss Lila Jean Carter and Lane Josie. Students attending colleges in Salt Lake City who spent Thanksgiving with their families included Miss Malta Young, Ted D. Nye and Norman Casper and his wife. Principal and Mrs. Samuel Hemingway and son spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Salt Lake City. k A supper party featured the meeting of the Senior Aaronic priesthood in the Tabiona ward Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Webb and family of Magna spent Thanksgiving in Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Birch and family of Kearns were Thanksgiving Day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Richens. Bishop and Mrs. Earl Van Tassell and family, Tabiona, and Royal Thomas of Salt Lake City were Thanksgiving Day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jessup Thomas. Ray Thomas and son, Acel, recently went to Heber on business. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye were also Heber visitors the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Giles were recent callers in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Turnbow recently went to Provo on business. HAVE OPENED STORE Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Richins now have their store open, and they are also operating a small lunch room in connection with the store. All customers are eligible to win a lovely ladies Baylor wrist watch on Dec. 22. Further details will be .explained when you visit the store. Several from Tabiona attended the Thanksgiving dance at Fruit-lan- d Friday evening. The dance at Tabiona was held Thursday, instead of Friday as it was at first announced. HAS OPERATION Heber LeFevre recently submitted to a spinal operation in the Vets Hospital in Salt Lake City. He is presently convalescing at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse LeFevre, and is reported getting along as well as can be expected. Mrs. Marvel Defa of Massachusetts, has been visiting friends and relatives in Tabiona and Salt Lake City. She came home by plane to be with her father, Mr. George A. Giles, who recently underwent an operation in Salt Lake City. He is reported doing as well as can be expected. Her husband is serving in the Army and is stationed at Camp Grant. pot-luc- Mrs. Albert Mezenen served a lovely dinner Sunday in honor of Mrs. Elva Pace of Spanish Fork and her son, Berts, birthdays. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baum, Miss Joan Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pace and Bert and Barbara Mezenen. The two guests received a number of nice presents. Visiting their father, Mr. Gilbert Ivie, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Clegg of Tabiona. Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baum was made happy by the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin White and family of Utahn and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peatross of Duchesne. Vaun Lott spent the holiday at home with his family. 'A Thanksgiving dinner at the Albert Mezenen home was enjoyed by the family and by Mr. and Mrs. L. Cox of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gertrude Williams served a lovely dinner to members of their family. Mrs. Minerva Olsen of Duchesne spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bates and family,. Miss Nancy Lott of Provo and Dan KiLlpack of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with her par-- ' ents. Miss Laura Clemons was a dinner guest of the Vaun Lotts on Thanksgiving. A lovely holiday dinner was served by Mrs. Vaun Lott Sunday for family members, also Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Lott of Pocatello, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Satterfield of Salt Lake City and Miss Laura Clemons of Duchesne. George and Elva Wedig and their three children of Aberdeen, Idaho came to spend the weekend with her parents. Mrs. James Summers served a lovely Thanksgiving dinner to her family. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rasmussen and family and Mr. and Mrs.' Norman Jenkins and children of Bingham. Mrs. Irene Baum of Heber spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. Noma Rowley. Then Mrs. Rowley and son, Robbie, spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Baum in Heber. Jim Lott of Sun Valley, Idaho spent a few days with the Vaun Lott family. He was returning to his home, after a two weeks visit in California. He had visited his father in San Pedro and his mother's people in Los Angeles. Jim is making his home at Sun Valley, where he is employed by the Union Pacific railroad. e, ' . PLAN WARD BAZAAR The Tabiona ward Relief Society is planning the annual ward bazaar for the first part of December. The exact date and final plans are not available for this weeks news deadline. However, the Relief Society officers would like people to know that it is being arranged and they hope a large crowd will plan to attend. Mrs. Nettie Carlile, a counselor in the presidency, reports considerable welfare sewing has been done by the local ward organization. a.
