The annual Uintah Basin Indian Missionary reunion will be held' Friday, August 31, at 8:00 pan. in the Tridell ward chapeL Purpose of the organization is to foster the missionary spirit and friendship among those who have served in the mission. President of the organization is James B. Harvey of TridelL The Harveys adopted an orphan baby as Indian girl while serving missionaries. Rulon Lind of Maeser of the ward is organization and James E. Bacon is secretary. President and Mrs. Golden R. Indian Buchanan of the South-we- st mission will attend as special guests. President Buchanan, who resides in Phoenix, was the Indian for the LDS Church and helped to organize the Uintah Basin Indian Mission in October 1949, when Mr. Bacon was called to serve as the new missions first president. Forest O, Goodrich of Tridell is now the president. Stakes Direct The mission is directed by the stake presidencies of the four Uintah Basin LDS Stakes, with E. J. Nixon of the Roosevelt stake as chairman of the committee. Others are William Wallace, Uintah; A. Hale Holgate, Duchesne; and Wm. N. Brotherson, Moon Lake. All who have served in the mission, members of the stake presidencies and the entire public, including Indian and are invited to attend the reunion. Special attractions will be the appearance of a guest artist each night. Fred Ketch, professional ventrilooquist and his cowboy dummy, Jerry Jerry, who were one of the entertainment features at the UBIC, will again entertain people of the Basin at the Friday night rodeo. A1 Montan, a professional rope twirler and knot specialist will present two performances Saturday night. The fair parade, which promises to be another colorful feature will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Theme for tht parade is Harvest Time, and all business establishments, organizations, clubs and church organizations in Duchesne County are urged to participate- - Floats will be judged on beauty, theme, originality, humor, and novelty. Five prizes ranging from $20 to $5 will be given.
