So seventeen carloads of people, numbering 78 down from persons, journeyed the mountain top to the Ted Nye home in Tabiona, where the picnic was spread and everyone had an enjoyable time visiting and taking and posing for pictures. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Larsen and children, of Las Vegas, Nev., traveled the farthest to the reunion, and had to start the return journey home the very same day. Nyes sisters, The months of July and August seem to be the popular time for family reunions and picnics, and it is wonderful to see and hear of the large family groups from far and near meeting together for picnics in the mountains and parks or the resorts. Three have been reported in this vicinity during the past week or two. The Nephi Chatwin family met on Wolf Creek Summit recently, where they enjoyed a picnic and visiting together. Approximately 88 sons, daughters, grandchildren and joined for the occasion, traveling from many parts of the state to Wolf Creek. The Rhoades family held their reunion last Sunday at the Power Plant near Heber, with members from this vicinity all joining in fanning equipment Mauty-Harr- it Ownership It a Mark at Good farm Managtmtnfl Marriage Plans Tabiona DUP Have Day Out At Hot Pots The Tabiona Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers enjoyed a pleasant outing Monday at Lukes Hot Pots in Midway. They also visited the Homestead Resort while in Midway. They enjoyed swimming and a delicious pot-luc-k lunch. On the way home, they stopped at the Lodge Pole Camp at the head of Daniels Canyon and enjoyed a picnic supper. Seventeen ladies enjoyed the outing. They were: Mrs. Grace Giles, Mrs. Rella LeFevre, Mrs. Deone Rhoades, Mrs. Jolene Giles, Mrs. Esther Gines, Mrs. Sarah Mrs. Mildred Webb, Chatwin, Mrs. Lydia Jones, Mrs. Violet Humes, Mrs. Lova Gines, Mrs. Hazel Clark, Mrs. Daphne Van Tassell, Mrs. Elaine S. Webb, Mrs. Norma Mrs. Twilla Rhoades, Wagstaff, Mrs. Bernice Young and Mrs. Nettie Carlile. Those who drove their cars to take the group to Midway were: Mrs. Norma Wagstaff, Mrs. Deone Rhoades and Mrs. Jolene Giles. The Daughters of the Pioneers also report they presented a pioneer program in the Tabiona ward recently, with Early Days in Tabiona the subject of the talks by Mrs. Sarah Chatwin, Mrs. Esther Gines and Mrs. Minnie Hamilton. Pioneer songs were sung by the group and the program was enjoyed by a large crowd. Misses Sherry and Sheila Wagstaff accompanied Ted Jackson to his parents home near Fish Lake, where the young people enjoyed a pleasant holiday recently. Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Toronto and family, of Salt Lake, were recent visitors at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Burnell Tumbow, Mr. Toronto is the Secretary of State, and Mrs. Toronto and Mrs. Tumbow are sisters. The ladies mother, Mrs. Jane Davidson, who had been visiting with her daughter and family in Tabiona, returned with them to her home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. J. W. Newman spent a few days recently in the Heber Hospital, but is now able to be at home again. We wish her a quick and complete recovery from her illness. The following couples enjoyed an outing at the Homestead Resort in Midway, Sunday evening: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Humes, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Darrold Casper, Mrs. Grace Giles, Miss Marvel Giles and Mrs. Elaine Weeb and children enjoyed visiting recently at the home of Mrs.. Max Roberts in Fruitland. Mr. and Mrs. David W. Nye, of American Fork, were recent overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maxwell. They also visited other relatives and friends in Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. William Pierce, of Pleasant Grove, enjoyed Sunday visiting relatives in Tabiona. Larry Van Tassell, of Salt Lake City, visited in Tabiona during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Webb and Dean Webb were recent Salt Lake City visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Max Roberts and visited of Fruitland, daughters, Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Giles. an- nounce the engagement of their daughter. Marvel, to Myrthan De-f- a, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Defa. Mr. Defa is presently serving in the U. S. armed forces at Camp Carsort, Colo. IN LDS HOSPITAL Mrs. Andrew Defa has been in the LDS Hospital during the past week in Salt Lake City. Although she has been very ill and had to have a slight operation and several blood transfusions, she was reported by her mother this morning as doing as well as can be expected and if all continues to go well, she can leave the hospital in a day or two. Mr. Defa and several of their children have been at her bed-sid- e during her illness. She submitted to major surgery earlier this spring and was thought to be recovering nicely until this last attack. Mr. and Mrs. William .Wadley and family recently motored to Provo and vicinity. About a dozen young people enjoyed a birthday surprise party honoring Miss Sheila Wagstaff, Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. LaRena Curry. Games were played and light refreshments served. , i The Temple excursion last Tuev day, from Duchesne Ward, resulted in the participation of 31 girls and 24 boys and 14 chaperones. They went to be baptized for the dead. After the baptism, the group visited many historical points of interest, including Hogles Zoo, before journeying home. A wonderful time was had by everyone.
