Show Reta Lott TWO NEW GRANDDAUGHTERS Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baum are very happy over the arrival of two new granddaughters. A daughter far Mr. and Mrs. Melvin White, bom March 25, and a second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peatross, born March 31. James G. Ivie visited at iona with relatives for a few days last week. Mrs. Pauline Brown and her two children, of Duchesne, Mrs. Betty Hamilan and 3 sons, of Salt Lake, visited at the Albert Mezenen home this wegk. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baum attended a meeting and social held for the High Priests on Friday evening at Duchesne. Spending the Easter holidays with the Wilbur Bates family were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Johnson and 3 children, of Salt Lake. Clarence Baum accompanied G. B. Workman to Hanna on Sunday afternoon. Bert and Barbara Mezenen spent Easter with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Baum and family, of Spanish Fork, were weekend visitors at the home of Alvins parents. Mr. and Mrs. Max Taylor and children, of Springville, spent the Easter vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Williams. Mrs. Marie Baum visited her daughter, Mrs. Melvin White, last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. William McKean and two children, of Salt Lake, and Miss Nancy Lott, of Provo, motored to Duchesne to spend Saturday and Easter Sunday with the Vaun Lotts. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Williams and family, of Salt Lake, spent part of their Easter holidays at the home of their sister, Mrs. Kenneth Ivie and family. FOURTH BIRTHDAY Little John Wayne Wheeler celebrated his fourth birthday with a party for the small fry. A lovely cake and ice cream were served to 12 little guests. Mr. and Mrs. Rock Baer, of Price, spent Easter Sunday with the Raleigh Ivie family. Mrs. Norma Rowley and her sons, Arthur and Robbie, spent the Easter holiday with her sister and family in Heber City. Mrs. Marie Baum visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. German Workman in Duchesne one day last week. FAMILY DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bates celebrated their wedding anniversary with a lovely turkey dinner for their family and the Ted Johnson family of Salt Lake. Norma Robb Temple Marriage Della Gilson and Glen Allred, of Talmage, were married Friday in the LDS Temple at Salt Lake City. They were accompanied by their mother, Mrs. Clara Brown. We all join in wishing this young couple a Jong and happy married life. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brady and family, of Vernal, were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mayhew. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Abplanalp, Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abplanalp and son, of Helper, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Abplanalp and sons, of Rangely, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Smith, of Bridgeland. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kinsey and son, of Midway, visited Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Abplanalp and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brown, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Broadhead are the proud parents of a baby girld born at the Roosevelt Hospital, April 8. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pope, Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Max Lewis and family, and Miss Fay Pope of Duchesne. Max Birch and Steve Esauk were in Roosevelt on business on Saturday. Mrs. Max Birch took her Sunday School class on an Easter hike, Saturday. Ray Abplanalp, who has spent the past week visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Abplanalp, left Monday for Mexico, where he is working. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Broadhead and sons and Mrs. P. F. Abplanalp were in Roosevelt Friday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Allred and family, of Roosevelt, and Mrs. Lyle Allred and family of Duchesne, visited Mr. and Mrs. Max Birch, Sunday. Mrs. Jennie Birch, of Salt Lake City, was a weekend visitor of Mrs. Evelyn Birch, Mr. and Mrs. Verlan Allred and family, of Orem, visited Mr. and Mrs. Max Birch, Monday. Nye Seniors Return From Trip To South Land The Tabiona High School Seniors returned from their Senior Sneak last week, reporting a wonderful time and a wonderful trip. e Those making the trip were: Thomas, Marilyn LeFevre, Pleasy Lewis, . LaMay Roberts, Carma Sizemore, Sharon Hamilton, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. E. Kent Ellertson and Mr. and Mrs. James Knight. Their tour included Bryce Canyon, Zions National Park, Las Vegas and Boulder Dam. Their t over-nigstops were at Payson, Panguitch, Las Vegas and St. George, with only one flat tire during the entire tour. The girls was atreport a special high-ligtending the floor show at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, and that they enjoyed a swim at Arrowhead in Payson, enroute, also. They left Tuesday afternoon and returned Saturday. Re-na- Udell Langdon has been greeting friends and relatives in this vicinity since being released from the U. S. armed forces recently. A great deal of his military service has been spent in Korea and we are all glad to welcome him home. He is a guest at the Alfred Giles home when in Tabiona. Mrs. France Mercer was an Easter guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maxwell. Sharon Nielson, of Salt Lake City, visited recently at the Walter LeFevre home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Josie and family visited recently at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Josie. Misses Patsy and Gay Lazenby were visiting friends and relatives in Tabiona recently. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Tassell are rejoicing over the arrival of a new baby boy, Sunday. Mother and babe are reported doing fine in the Roosevelt Hospital, while two sisters and two brothers are waiting impatiently at home to welcome the new arrival. Acel Thomas has been a Salt Lake City visitor this week. Another interesting sidelight on these two Carlile families is the fact that the two fathers are brothers, and the two mothers are sisters, the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse LeFevre, of Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Casper and daughter, Ila Mae, and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Casper enjoyed a recent weekend visit in Provo. A special treat was Sunday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Marcus. Mrs. Bill Williams entertained at a birthday dinner party honoring her husband on his birthday and Jack Young, who also shared the birthday date. Bill Morton, of Fruitland, was a weekend guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Casper, and also enjoyed a visit with Mrs. Maude Atwood at the Oran Curry home in Hanna. Other conference visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Josie and sons, Bennett and Lane, and Miss Althea Weiberg, of California, and Miss Collie Defa. Mr. and Mrs. Josie and Bennett just returned from a trip to California in time for conference. cow-poke- Dridal Shower A bridal shower was given for Mrs. Coy (Michie) Harmon in the Hanna church house on Saturday afternoon, April 9. A program consisting of the following was enjoyed by the large crowd present: Accordian solo, by Sheila Wagstaff; vocal duet, Malta Young and Lila Jean Carter, accompanied by Amber Carter; reading, Cathy Van Tassell; reading, by Twila Rhoades; song, Dorothy Moon, accompanied by Coy Harmon; saxophone solo, Linda Thomas, accompanied by Mary Lewis, and vocal duet, by Lena Giles and Joy Allred. Luncheon was served, after which the bride opened her gifts. Mrs. Ora Holgate, Mrs. Rose Gilbert and Mrs. Arwilla Moon of Arcadia and Duchesne were in attendance as were the many residents and former residents of Hanna and Tabiona. A large crowd attended the wedding dance given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Saturday evening, which was also held in the Hanna church. Music was by the Wagstaff orchestra.
