Also another change was to appropriate $6,000 for construction of a new bridge across the Lake-for- k River in the east end of Arcadia. Followers of the waxed floor game in the Uintah Basin Friday night will turn their wondering eyes toward Altamont, where a team with a league win to its credit will host another fine team that will be fighting to get back in the league race after dropping ts first game, Last Fridays win for the Longhorns of Altamont over Duchesne gives them a share of an unbeaten record with Union, and when the Utes come storming into town on Friday they will come with a loss to Union and a determined attitude of winning from the Coach Ken Beardens team. A real battle is expected, and on their home floor the Longhorns are always tough so anything can happen. The Altamont game will possibly pull some of the interest of the area away from the game at Duchesne but not in the opinion of the boosters of the Eagles and Cougars. The Eagles must beat Union if they are to retain much of a chance at the title, and by the same token the Cougars will have to take game No. 3 in order to keep their prestige as the leaders.
