Show 3Irawberrg TABIONA Prom A A ; Hanna Ward Play Treat-The- me Secret A date to remember April . . The reason the three act comedy-farc- e being presented in the Hanna ward chapel under the sponsorship of the MIA. The time will be 8 p.m., according to Mrs. Vivian Curry, a of the play, with Mrs. Joan Fabrizio and Mrs. Ellis Rhoades. The production is called, His Name Was Aunt Nellie, and those working hard for a first class evening of entertainment for us all would like to see everyone in this vicinity attend. So, lets go to Hanna on April 26. 26. Beautiful decorations, lovely girls in gorgeous new dresses, handsome young men dressed in their best, attractive printed programs, and scintilating dance music by the seven member Johannssen Dance Orchestra, of Heber, all combined to make the Junior Prom at the Tabiona High School the most gala social event of the entire year. The ten beautiful Junior girls participated in a very colorful floor show during intermission to the strains of The Blue Danube, which was chosen as the Prom theme, which was a secret, too, until our esteemed editor let the cat out of the bag in his column. . . guess he must not read what I write. . . but, as Principal Swallow said, no one thought to tell him when they had their programs printed at Roosevelt not to tell the theme at Tabiona, which is always a traditional secret. The Post Prom held last Friday was also a very successful dance. Many from Heber attended the Junior Prom. Among those we spotted we know were: Mr. and Mrs. Don Giles. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Allred, Ferrin Van Wagoner and Ellis Clyde. Mr. Allred, Mr. Van Wagoner and Mr. Clyde were all members of the orchestra. There were several other couples from Heber and other towns present, also. . Recent Heber visitors were Mrs. Grace Giles, who accompanied her brother, Ferris, and his wife of Hanna. The Uintah Basin School Administrators dinner was' held at Tabiona on April 13, according to Principal Doyle K. Swallow. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Jones were: Mrs. Martha Fraughton,1 Mr. and Mrs. Dana Fraughton and son, Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fraughton and son, Frankie, all of American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nye, of American Fork, spent a couple of days last week visiting relatives and friends in Tabiona. They were overnight guests on Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maxwell, and Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye. Everyone in this vicinity is invited to attend a missionary farewell party, monoring Rex Broadhead, in the Utahn ward chapel, April 23. There will be a program and dancing, according to the telephone call I received yesterday. Rex has been calld on a mission to Norway for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, and is scheduled to enter the Mission Home on April 28th. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse LeFevre recently journeyed to Panquitch to attend funeral services of a relative. We extend our sympathy. Recent Roosevelt visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Defa, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Jones, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Giles were weekend visitors in Provo and Salt Lake City. They were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Giles, in Provo. Mrs. Ira Hamilton and son, Colin Kelly, motored to Moab to bring her husband home for the Prom. Their daughter, Sharon, was one of the Juniors. Mr. Hamilton is employed in construction woTk there. D.U.P. MEETS The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Minnie Hamilton, with Mrs. Elaine S. Webb and Mrs. Calista Defa as Mrs. Defa was excused from the meeting because of illness. The lesson was given by Mrs. Nora LeFevre. The following ladies were prese ent: Mrs. Grace Giles, Mrs. Giles, Mrs. Bernice Young, Mrs. Elaine S. Webb, Mrs. Esther Gines, Mrs. Nora LeFevre, Mrs. Minnie Van Tassell, Mrs. Bernice Van Tassell, Mrs. Jessie Maxwell, Mrs. Lova Gines, Mrs. Eda Giles, Mrs. Norma Josie, Mrs. Elma Clark and Mrs. Hamilton. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs Grace Giles. The young lady also has two sets of in Tabiona. They are Mr. and Mrs. Heber Jones, and Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Chatwin. Tabiona ward Primary officers and teachers who attended the recent Primary conference in Salt Lake City were: Pres. LaBerta Wadley, Sec. Elaine S. Webb, and Miss Pleasy Lewis, a teacher. Mrs. Grace Giles and Mrs. Bernice Young, of the Tabiona Camp of the Daughters .of the Utah Pioneers, attended the convention of the organization at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City. LaMar Lazenby visited his mother, who is ill in Salt Lake City Monday. He accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hackford. Mr. and Mrs. Max Roberts and baby, Sherrie, of Fruitland, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Giles. We were glad to receive an interesting letter from Mrs. Florence Johnson, of Rangely, Colo., telling us how much she enjoys reading the news from Tabiona in the Uintah Basin Record since they have moved away. She reports their daughter, LaLauna, 'was winner in the spelling contest at Rangely for sixth graders and contested at Meeker, Colo., also, where she won second place and a red ribbon. The spelling contest is an annual affair in Colorado, and this was LaLaunas first try at anything like that. We all extend her our congratulations. Principal and Mrs. Doyle K.
