Since it would be almost impossible for us to visit each home at this glorious season of the year, and leave our Christmas wishes, we are using this means of greeting you and expressing our honest appreciation for the support you have given us this past year. May charily, kindness and the peace of God abide with you and your loved ones during this Christmas season and the coming New Year. WE CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS As we near the day we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, we feel our inadequacy of being able to express our love to Him. The inspired words of Paul seem most appropriate when he exclaimed, with all his emotions aroused, Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift. We have this most wonderful Christmas gift to men offered by a loving, gracious, heavenly Father to this generation also. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believelh in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. The Holy Spirit does His work well, continually showing us the things concerning Christ. Yes, He leads the multitudes around to the place where they see anew the Christ Child, cradled in the manger. Many obey the example of the wise men, worshiping Him and offering their gifts to Him. Let us consider the- best gift we can give to the One who gave up heavens glory to dwell among men and finally gave up His earthly physical life, shedding His precious blood, atoning for the sins of all who would believe in Him, the Son of God. That gift can be nothing more or less than our very lives, and we are challenged by the words which fell from the lips of Jesus, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto' me. - As the world writhes in pain and sorrow, ths result of sin and the conniving of ruthless war lords, the kind deeds done in the Master's name are so badly needed that everyone who names the name of Christ should help in applying "the balm of Gilead" to the wounded hearts. The key to the blessing of life, offered freely by Jesus Himself, is faith in this One who said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, John 14:6. but by me. come. May the true meaning o f Christmas lift your heart with courage, and bring you and yours renewed spiritual strength for the new year. ROOSEVELT and GUSHER BAPTIST CHURCHES Rev. Nolan N. STATE OF UTAH THE ABOVE NAMED DEFENDANTS: You are hereby summoned and required to serve upon Rob- ert Murray Stewart, plaintiffs 00 WARD BISHOPRIC Excitement has been in the hearts of people for weeks. Decorations, lights in different colors, shine in our cities and towns. People prepare presents for their dear ones. The air is filled with Christmas songs and music. And that is right. For centuries it has been the Christmas feast that has inspired poets and writers, artists and musicians. But not only they, but everybodys heart also has joined in that spirit by sharing love and joy with his brethren which is the central theme of Christmas. Why do we go through so much preparation and work? What is the reason for this diffusion of human love? It is commemoration of that great event 1953 years ago which turned the tides of history. Remembrance of Gods love, as St. John says: God is love. In this has the love of God been shown, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world that we may live through him. But Christmas is not only a memory, the meaning of which is sometimes lost in the cares, rush, and preoccupations of our modern life. Indeed Christmas is at least as much a reminder of the very purpose of our life as it is a cause for celebration. It is the love of God which is so inspiring to man that even those who rarely think of God are attracted as by a magnet to the churches at Christmas. My greatest Christmas wish, however, is that even during daily routine of labor, even annoyances of the year, men should not forget this great love of God. After all, Christmas is more than a mere emotional and thrilling experience. It reminds us of our duty, to become ever closer to His love. We are reminded of the blessings He has given us, the worship we owe Him, both public and private, as our Creator. It is at Christmas that we are fully reminded of the fact that we can converse with God in prayer, and that we must prepare ourselves for the time when we shall meet our Creator. St. Paul expresses these thoughts so much better in his epistle than we can express. He writes; "The giace of God our Saviour has appeared to all men, instructing us, in order that rejecting ungodliness and world lusts, we may live temperately and justly and piously in this world: looking for the blessed hope and glorious coming of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and cleanse for Himself an acceptable people, pursuing good works." Titus 2, With joy and thankfulness in our hearts ore send to all our friends the Seasons best wishes. 11-1- 5.
