Mickelson' Clerk, Board of Education Injures Shoulder Mrs. Stanley (Margaret) Ross was taken to the Roosevelt hospital Monday night where she received treatment for a broken shoulder. Mrs. Ross was helping her husband corral their cattle up at their ranch in Sowers Canyon when the horse she was riding stepped in a hole and fell. Mrs. Ross fell on her shoulder. She was able to return home Wednesday. Kent Jensen went to' Salt Lake City Thursday to visit and Charles Jensen went out to get ' him Saturday. Mrs. Gladys Ross, Mrs. Rose Gilbert, Mrs. Nancy Gilbert, Mrs. Ora Holgate attended the wedding reception for Mrs. Martha Lou Miller in Duchesne on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mower and son, David, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Nelo Hicken of Tabiona visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gilbert. Mrs. Boyd (Vivian) Freston of Roosevelt visited a few days Mrs. Chad (Betty) Evans returned home Friday from the Roosevelt hospital where she received medical treatment, at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Larsen. Mr. Edsel Murphy and two sons of Salt Lake City attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Derdon last Saturday. Mrs. Archie Larsen returned home last week from Salt Lake City where she had been receiving medical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark returned this weekend from a visit in Vernal and An increase in the cut of timber from the 19 national forests of the Intermountain Region was reported today by W. L. Robb, Chief of Timber Management for the Forest Service at Ogden, Utah. A report showed 147.7 million board feet of timber harvested for the fiscal year 1953 as compared with 131.3 million board feet cut the preceeding year. Robb said that the annual national forest timber crop harvested mostly by private sawmill operators, contractors and ranchers provides considerable lumber, posts, mine props and other wood products as well as employment for the people in local communities.
