Reed Lyons, chairman of the coun.y PMA committee, adviseo that ballots will be mailed to all Duchesne County farmers who are known to be eligible to vote in these elections. To be counted, ballots must bear a postmark not later than the deadline date on the 1)811018. A farmer is generally elegiblc to vote if he is an owner, operator, tenant, or sharecropper of a farm and is participating in or carrying out practices in accord with programs administered by the PMA committees. Farmers who are eligible but who have not yet received a ballot should notify the count PMA committee or County office. Ballots have been prepared and the voting will be for three farmer? to serve as members of a community PMA committee, a delegate from each community to the county convention where the delegates will elect the county committee, and alternates. Mr. Lyons urges every eligible voter to get his ballot in the mail before the deadline and. to vote for the fanners he thinks are most able and willing to take on the responsibilities of program administration in 1953. In the coming year, he points out, community committeemen will visit all farms in their areas to help fanners develop their conservation program This procedure was followed in one county in each state this year. It was my privilege to spend the greater part of two days and a night at the fair and I enthusiastically join others in their praise to everyone who had anything to do with its great success. . . To name name? would be an injustice to some who would be overlooked, so suffice it to say, You Did A Grand Job, And Your Efforts Were Greatly Appreciated. The City of Duchesne did itself proud in the fine way they Joined forces to get things ready for the fair, and then the manner in which they took care of the crowds that attended the various functions. . . The clubs, the church, the business houses, the schools everyone who helped and made contributions was magnificent. The approximately 800 who jammed the L.D.S. Stake tabernacle and recreation hall on the opening night to participate in the Miss Duchesne County contest, left- - overjoyed at the wonderful program they saw and heard. . . And especially were they amazed at the outstanding talent displayed by the thirteen lovely young girls of the county who participated for the right to enter the state contest next week for Miss Utah honors. . .
