Rachel Stocks gave a retold story and Mona Dee Liddell played a piano solo. Scriptural reading was by Karine Kofford, and Geo. Swasey gave the closing prayer. Achievement was held in Tabiona Monday evening. A full account of the evening will be given next week. A farewell party is planned to honor Glen Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin W. Lewis, who will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City on Dec. 4, prior to his departure to the Southern States to fulfill a mission for the LDS church. Elder Lewis is a graduate of Tabiona high school and was class valedictorian and a star athlete while at the school. He attended the U.S.A.C. for one year on a scholastic scholarship. He has always taken an active part in all church activity and has served as Aaronic priesthood president in the ward, succeeding his brother, William, who was recently inducted into the Army. Glen will also serve in the same mission field as his brother. The PTA Christmas party, planned for Dec. 9, has been postponed until January because of conflicting activities. Mr. Darrell Josie has acquired the use of the gym that evening for his wedding dance. He will wed Miss Emma Jean Maxwell, of Salt Lake City, daughter of Alvin Maxwell, and a former resident of Tabiona. A Tabiona ward Primary preparation meeting was held at the home of Miss Carol LeFevrc f. w 4-- H February 9th Roosevelt at Duchesne Tabiona at Alterra Uinta at Altamont ( February 16th Duchesne at Alterra Altamont at Roosevelt Tabiona at Uintah February 21st (Wed.) Final preparations are being made for the Christmas program, which will be presented by the Primary under the direction of the presidency, Mrs. Florence Johnson, Mrs. Ina VanTassell and Mrs. Deon Rhoades. Plans are being made for the first basketball game of the season at Tabiona, when Green-rive- r high will visit here. Tabiona has a new coach this year, Joel Lillywhite, who was a former BYU player. I asked Coach Lillywhite what he thought of the prospects for Tabiona, and it seems they are not too bright. He says the boys are small, slow and not too good at making baskets. According to Coach Lillywhite, the one bright spot is their team work, and the fact that they do have a way of being in an anticipated spot in time to receive the ball. There is always the hope that with that much to go on, Mr. Lillywhite said, the other game requirements, mainly the ability to drop the ball through the hoop, will develop. However, Coach Lillywhite assured me, he has no intention of sacrificing health and scholastic standings to win basketball games. He intends to emphasize the sport itself and not just the winning, and warns that all players must maintain their scholastic standings if they expect to be on the team. We all realize this is the proper attitude and commend Mr. Lilly-whit- e for his stand, and personally offer him our full support in carrying out his plans and in maintaining his ideals. Boyd Williams suddenly lost the sight of one eye end was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Full details are not known but it is reported the eye suddenly started to bleed, necessitating immediate treatment, and it is not known whether his sight can be restored or not. We all wish him a complete and early recovery.
