Show UINTAH BASIN RECORD, DUCHESNE, UTAH 1VTDN By Grace Dalgleish The Myton Ward LDS chapel was the scene of a gay party when revelers gathered Thursday evening to enjoy a clever program, dancing and games with confetti and noise makers awakening the ghosts and goblins. Mrs. Willard Smith and Mr. Afton Richens were in charge of the evenings entertainment with members of the MIA as guests. Refreshments were served at the close of the evenings entertainment. Members of Friday Bridge club were guests at the home of Mrs. James Dalgleish Thursday afternoon with bridge enjoyed by Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. Ilomer Robison, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Wm. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mott were honored Friday evening when a jolly group of friends gathered for a housewarming at their recently completed' home. Music, dancing and a general good time were enjoyed by twenty-fiv- e guests. Mr. and Mrs. Mott were the recipients of many lovely and useful gifts as a token of their friends esteem. Delicious refreshments were served during the evening. Friday afternoon, and evening parties at the Myton school celebrating Halloween brought joy to the large enrollment of students. During the afternoon the 1st thru 6th grades enjoyed programs and refreshments, while the 7th and 8th grades held their entertainment Friday evening with dancing, games and refreshments. Witches, goblins and ghosts were thrown in for good measure. LaRae Morrill and Mildred Tanner were hostesses to seventeen young guests Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Morrill. A Halloween theme was carried out in decorations, games and refreshments. Dancing was enjoyed a part of the entertainment and the merry young guests did full justice to the delicious lunch served late in the evening. Miss Marguerite Monks, Miss Mary Lee Mortensen and Lowell Babcock, all students at the USAC at Logan, spent the week end visiting at the homes of their parents and participating in the pheasant hunt. Ted Monks and Calvin Monks made a business trip to Provo Friday returning that evening. Mrs. Fred Todd and Miss Nina Babcock went to Mt. Pleasant Friday with Mrs. Robert Mari-moof Whiterocks. Mrs. Todd enjoyed a short visit with her son, Phillips who is attending Wasatch Academy, wnile Miss Babcock, a graduate of the academy had the opportunity to greet many school friends. Louis Uresk who is a student at the USAC at Logan, came home for the weekend, accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Gust Johnson and son, Darrell, who came from Logan to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Uresk and with Mr. Johnsons brother, John L. Johnson. They joined the group of pheasant hunters who oombarded this district in search of pheasant, quail and ducks. Miss Shirley Mecham, of and Miss Gwen Dennis, of Provo, were weekend guests of LaRae Morrill at the Alfred Morrill home, coming to attend the Halloween party given by La Rae Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brown and family were visiting and attending to business matters in ML Emmons Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Strong and son, Wayne, were in Salt Lake City on business during tbe week. Miss Beulah Mayhew spent a few days last week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Joe DiStefano at Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Abplanalp and son, Larry, and Mrs. Loren Kofford were visiting and attending to business in Heber and Provo last Thursday. A large group of people from Utahn attended LDS Church quarterly conference at Duchesne last Sunday. Mrs. Thomas Abplanalp find daughter, Sandra Kay, of Tabiona, were visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Theron Robb Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Max Birch were in Salt Lake City on business Monday. Mr. Leonard Brown and daughter, Delia, were in Roosevelt last Saturday having dental work performed. r A Halloween party was held at the, home of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Matthews Saturday evening for the Bee Hive Girls. The time was spent playing games and making candy. Present were Della and Marline Brown, Dona Lang, Reah, Leveila and Le wanna Matthews. Word was received last week from Vernal of the death of the mother of Mr. Don Lewis. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family. of Mr. Gingells father. Jack Gingell and with his brother, Earl Gingell and family. J. K. home, a former Myton resident who now makes his home at Pleasant Grove, spent the weekend here enjoying the pheasant hunt. Miss Betty Jensen, who is attending a school of beauty culture in Salt Lake, came home to spend the weekend with her father, J. W. Jensen. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Burton were Mrs. Burtons daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Biltz, and two children, of Midvale. Mrs. Kenneth Tinsley and son, Tommie, arrived Thursday evening to visit at the home of her mother, Mrs. Bliss Lott. Mrs Tinsley and tiny son were returning from a trip to Kansas City where they accompanieo Mr. Tinsley to visit his parents Mr. Tinsley left his wife and sor. at Salt Lake City and continuec on to their home in Los Angeles Paul Williams and son, Emmett, came from Manila, to spend the weekend with Mrs Williams, one of the facultj members at the Myton school Other visitors at the Williams home were Mrs. H. Thompson Mr. and Mrs. Marty Larsen anc James Larsen, of Salt Lake City Relief Society conference was conducted at the Ward chape, Sunday, with Mrs. Phoebe Mrs. Luella Pratt, Mrs Mrs. Maynard White, Mrs. Donna Erma Harris, Dennis, Mrs. and Mrs. Sarah Nielson taking part on the program. Mrs. Hazel Peterson, secretary, sustained the officers. Mrs. Zelda Lloyd, o. Ioka, a member of the Stakt Board addressed the congrega tion awarding a citation to the Myton Ward the first ward ir the stake to raise its quota for the state building fund. Mrs. Joe Trujillo, of Vernal visited at the Felix Quintan: home Sunday, returning homi that evening. Mrs. Quintana and daughters, Elnora and Mrs. Wint worth Mott and children accompanied Mrs. Trujillo to Ver nal for a brief visit, returning home Monday evening. Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Merrell and son, Gordon, of Salt Lake City, were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gingell, while enjoying the pheasant shoot. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Joily, and family, of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stoker and children, of Bingham, arrived Saturday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gingell and to participate in the pheasant hunt. A farewell party will be held next Friday evening, Nov. 5, to honor Ronald Elder, who wil leave soon to enter the Texas Louisana mission field. He will meet his brother, Kay, who wil be released from his mission early this month.
