Allen Humes habeen in for the past ten days, Working for Alva Murdock. Pfc. Ferris Casper returned to his base in Santa Barbara, Calif. Thursday, after spending 60 day with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Tice of Nushcora, Wisconsin has spent the past; ten days at Fruitland visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Brooks. Mrs Tice is a sister of Mrs. Brooks. Pfc. Vernon Sweat is spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sweat. Pfc. Sweat has seen action in He-b- er 30-d- ay Germany, France and many other places in Europe, Mrs. Douglas Sears of Albion, Idaho, has been vsiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs Albert Sweat. He has recently been transferred from Santa Ana, California, to Kearns, Utah. His wife took him. back to Salt Lake Sunday evening. Miss Betty Holder returned home Friday after several days in Salt Lake City where she visited with her uncle and aunt, Mr .and Mrs. Hillary Holder. Her sister, Miss Jeane Holder, remained in Salt Lake to have dental work done. Members of the Case family made a trip to Jensen Sunday to participate in a home coming celebration. Many former residents of the Jensen ward attended church services there during the day and in the afternoon gathered on the church grounds and partook of a pot luck lunch. Those making the trip were Mr. and Mrs. F. Earl Case, Mrs. Fred A. Case, Mrs. A. L. Snyder, Mrs. W. G. Neal, George Case, Floyd Case, Miss Deane Case, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Goodrich. W. E. Crosby took several members of the party in his car. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Allen and baby son of Vernal were guests Sunday of Mrs. Allens parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie J. Orr. The Mt Emmons ward was reorganized Sunday under the direction of Stake President E. L. Murphy. Bishop Walter Kerksiek and all other officers of the ward were released with a vote of thanks for their faithful service. New officers sustained were Wm. R. Evans, bishop; Hyrum Smith, first counselor; not (second counselor yet chosen; Leslie J. Orr, ward clerk; Ames, Relief Society president; Birch F. Bennion, Sunday School superintendent; Wesley Thacker Y. M. M, I. A. president; Mrs. Fern Snow, Y. W. M. I. A. president; Mrs. Ruth Dastrup, Primary president. Stake officers present were E. L. Zeary Mathews and daughter Dot of Midvale made t trip here during the last part of the week, bringing his mother, Mrs Edith Mathews home. She has spent several months at his home, so that She would be near medical care. They are enjoying a visit from their son, Marvin, who is home on furlough. Miss Reta Bennion was visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Madsen, Saturday. Veri Oman came in from Fort Douglas to visit with his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Levor Oman, for a few days before joining his wife. Shelley Tanner is here visiting with Will Jessen and other relatives after two years overseas. Dick Jessen came home on the 15th of August on a fifteen-da- y furlough, before going on with further training.
