L, Murray left Monday for Oklahoma where they will visit relatives for two weeks. Word was received this week of the birth on May 3 of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kent at Salt Lake City. Miss Marjorie Crocker and Miss Frances Peterson, students at the BYU, spent last week end m Duchesne with Miss Petersons mother Mrs. Max Peterson. They returned to school Monday morning. Joe Moysh and Axel Birch of Roosevelt were Duchesne visitors Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Carman and Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Schonian attended the movies in Roosevelt last Tuesday evening. Mrs. Harvey Hatch is spending a few days with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Wm. H. Case. They expect to make their home in Ogden in the near future, Mrs. Hatch said. Mr, and Mrs. A. J. Gerry were among the parents who went to Ogden Thursday to attend the music festival. Mrs. Pete Abplahalp and Mrs. Shelby Mayhew accompanied the students in the busses. District Attorney Stanley Dun-forof Provo was in Duchesne Thursday to get transcript on the testimony in the case of Utah vs. Paul Olsen. This case, tried m the District court here last fall resulted, in a conviction. It was appealed to the Supreme Court and sent back to the district court for retrial. Mrs. Carl Johnstun of Roosevelt was in Duchesne Thursday on business. Mrs. Mm. Morrison of Roosevelt was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Jchnstun several days this week. Superintendent and Mrs. W. J. Bond and family and Miss Anna Stark left Thursday afternoon for Little Mar-den- e Ogden and Logan. Bond is entered in the National music festival as a violiVi soloist. While in Logan, Miss Stark and Mr, Bond will interview prospective teachers. Mrs. Titus Jcnes and Mrs. Ernest Schoijian motored to Roosevelt Thursday afternoon to take care of business in connection with the visitation cf the Grand officers of the Eastern Star to Duveromy Chapter No. 17, at Myton next Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Merkley spent last week end at Willow Creek in Uinath county where Mr. Merkley had business. Mrs. Marvel Moore, Who has been seriously ill since a tonsil at Provo ten days ago, is now improving some, it was rer, ported by her father, Wm. H. who visited her Sunday. Approval of the board was given to the purchase, on the 0 basis, of a bell lyre for the Roosevelt high school band. Clyde Rowley, contract driver of the Mt. Home bus met with the board, requesting a renewel of his contract. A committee was appointed to investigate thi3 route and deal with Mr. Rowley for a renewal or purchase of his bus. Discuss Shop plans The balance of the meeting was spent In discussion of the proposed shop for the Duchesne high school. Superintendent Bond reported that David assistant Superintendent Gourley and Howard B. Gunderson, director of the trades and industries division of the state department of education had both inspected the possible sites and had recommended that the shop be built as an addition on the noith end of the high school. Preliminary plans were examined for two proposals, one contemplating a 40x60 shop with auxiliary rooms and an 18x32 agriculture room, all on the ground floor. The second plan calls for the agriculture room as a second story above the shop, leaving room for a possible addition of two class rooms at a future date. A motion was passed, authorizing the employment of an architect to submit detailed plans and material lists of the two plans, so that the board can make a final decision as to whch to adopt. The bus crippled in as far as He-bCity and reported from there to the board of educaton office at Duchesne. Superintendent W. J. Bond said some of the band students were going on in private cars and that the Utahn bus, traveling with part of the Duchesne band would be ordered back from Ogden as soon as it arrived there, to pick up the balance of the Tabicna students waiting in Heber. The Tabiona bus, in the meantime was to be taken to Salt Lake City for repairs, so that it could bring its load home when the band Is through at Ogden.
