The new setup includes a complete group of commissioners and other scout leaders to direct the scout division for boys 15 to explorer 17 years or age. This division replaces the vanguard work for senior scouts conducted for several years by the L. D. S. church. District commissioners and committee chairmen under the reorganization include Hervin Bunderson. general chairman; James Jensen, assistant chairman and chief commissioner. Boy Scout division Jesse W. Hoopes, organization; W. D. Cummings, camping; W. E. Davis, court of honor; Mont Harmon, health and safety; Ezra Saekett, commissioner, and Norman Watkins, correlation member. Explorer scout division. John H. Horsley, organization; E. E. White, camping; L. D. Wilde, court of honor; Mr. Harmon health and safety; R. Odell Nelson, Leon K. Hales, ascommissioner; sistant commissioner, and Norman Watkins, correlation member. All except Mr. White, who resides at Harper, are Brigham residents. A discussion of the duties of the various members was held following installing of the officers. Vor nounce the arrival of a baby girl, born Friday, Oct. 11th. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Colledge and two children, who met with an accident last Monday evening on the rehighway south of Honeyville, turned to their home in Tooele on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Veran Boothe and children of Provo visited here on Sunday last. The Seagull girls of the Primary association entertained their mothers Friday evening in the ward hall. Prince Rolland and The Magic Mask was dramatized by the girls and a program was rendered. Luncheon was served after which games were played. Mrs. Tolman Burke entertained at a bridge party Saturday. A. held their conjoint meeting and furnished a program to stimulate interest in the subscription campaign of the Era- Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Miller and family have moved here from Rish-fielMr. Miller will farm at Appledale. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bradford and family motored to Weston, Idaho on Sunday. They visited a nephew in the hospital at Logan, who was injured in an automobile wreck. Mrs. Elmer Redeling and children visited with Mrs. Taylor in Salt Lake City over the week-enMisses Joyce and Betty Adney are to be congratulated on the many prizes they won at both the county and state fair on their sheep. Prizes have been received from the county fair this week by the following women who won prizes for outstanding exhibits in the various womens work departments: Mrs. Bernice Anderson, Mrs. Sadie Marble, and Mrs. Marcella Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl, born Oct 1st. Mrs. Smith was Miss Fay Marble. David Hewlett, who recently underwent an operation on his eye, has returned to his home and is steadily improving. The operation proved successful and his sight will be restored. R. Cutler has been compelled to go on crutches for the last few days due to having received a bad kick on his leg by a horse, as he was working in the beet fields. Improvements have been made on the fraternal building in the form of new roofing. Mr. and Mrs. Official Decree Following issuance of an official order from Washington rescinding the previous edict which had closed the No. 2 unit of Bear River marsh to Utah sportsmen, hunters throughout the state await the official openof the duck season with unabated ing enthusiasm. unit at the marsh, one of the finest duck hunting sites in the state, is expected to be crowded with sportsmen at seven oclock on the morning of Monday, Oct, 21st, the official opening day of the season. 2 The season will conclude Nov. 19th. In addition to Unit No. 2, in its entirety, the south portion of Unit No. 1 and the west portion of Unit No. 3 will be open this season. Duck hunting throughout the state is expected to be good this season. The straight season will undoubtedly work a handicap on many sportsmen, but in view of the recent policy adopted by the national government, It will undoubtedly prove popular. Hours of shooting are from seven a. m. to four p. m. The bag limit is ten per day and ten in possession. Following close on the heels of the duck season will be the elk, deer, quaill and pheasant campaigns.
