PIONEERS ARE Tourney Announced Topics The The six weeks tournament of the Girls Tennis club came to a close last Friday. Seventy names hung on the ladders in the library. Much enthusiasm and interest has been shown in this contest. There were three separate ladders. The winner of the largest ladder was Anna Baird, with second place going to Marie Thorn. Helen Tiller received the honors of the first place n berth on another ladder. Grace came a close second. Zella Skidmore was first and Martha Jane Owens second on the other ladder. The next tournament sponsored by the Tennis club will be a doubles combat. The girls will choose their partners. Then, the teams will be placed in groups. Every team will play all of the other teams in their group. A meeting will be held at 6:30 oclock on the court house lawn tomorrow, July 27th, for the purpose of making final arrangements for this contest. The meeting of the Tennis club last Wednesday proved to be very interesting. An exhibition match was staged between Claud Jensen and Hyrum Holton versus Rex Skidmore and Robert Harmon. Thirty girls thoroughly enjoyed this game.
