THANKSGIVING DAY The season is again with us when by Presidential and state proclamations and from the inner promptings of the spirit we are wont to lift grateful hearts to our Creator in thankfulness. As we look back along the weeks and months of th year just passed we find that there is much to fill our hearts with gratitude. This is a most holy day among our national holidays, because it specifically proclaims the existence of a Divine Power the Giver Of All Good." It is this i recognition which gives the day its significance, which invites to worship and which presents an object for the deepest gratitude. As a people we certainly have an ample reason for a joyous thanksgiving season. Most of us have been blessed with health, which is the one thing we are most apt .to forget It has been given to us to garner a bountiful crop, in peace and health and the merciful fulfillment of the planting. From oyr industries there has come an immense output and our people have enjoyed increasing comforts 'and a present and promising prosperity. For all of our material blessings we should give thanks to Providence who has shown us such Divine favor. Surely too, we should be thankful for our government, established by our forefathers, under which we live in peace and security. Here every man is a king, every woman a queen and every youth an heir to the heritage of honest labor which givesun-limite- d opportunity. And while giving thanks for such a government we should make a firm resolution to and set support it , whole-hearted- ly our hands and hearts resolutely against those who would bring shame and reproach upon this people. Then we need to give thanks for friends and kindred, those who know all about us and love us just the same; for books; 'for the beauty of poetry and the wonderland of science; for music, the ministry of melody in d g or hymn; for the marvelous beauty of the earth, the gorgeous colors of the sunset and the mystery and the glory of the starry spaces of the night sky. We may well give thanks for difficulties and doubts, disappointments and defeats .without which the soul would lack fibre and faith would be unknown. For the discipline which comes by way of struggle and the peace of mind which follows victory may we be glad and grateful. ' We have uncommon reason for rejoicing as a nation in our prosperity, but we have also uncommon opportunity and obligation to give other people reason for thankfulness that they live in the same world with us. love-son- age-ol- well-earn- IS ELECTED HEAD NOTICE OF REDEMPTION OF IVt PER CENT WATER WORKS BONDS, SERIES OF DECEMBER 1, 1917, MATURING ON DECEMBER 1, 1937, OF BRIGHAM CITY CORPORATION, NOTICE.
