The whole question seems to hinge upon the housing accommodations of Fort Douglas and the university of Utah, to care for 1700 men. Doubtless that can be and will be arranged for it would be a great thing to welcome the famous troops home in a body and then welcome them In their several home towns in group form. Advice point to an early embarkation of the troops from a port in Fra- fc nce so that we may begin to look for them within a few weeks. It is ot too early to begin preparations for the greatest public reception ever staged and Box Elder County will want to give her sons such a welcome home that time will never efface it. CHRISTMAS. Box Elder County, in line with .that IT WHY THE FLU CONTINUES The other afternoon one of the special health policemen espied a party on the streets uptown whom he had, a short time beforo, quarantied at home for influenza. The individual was sent ' home, after the officer expressed a piece of his mind, and in the middle of N (hat same night, the officer was called over the phone and asked to bring some mustard to the home of the party who was sent home that afternoon, because the Individual in question had developed pneumonia. Another case. The Health Inspector went to quarantine a homo me other morning and found a young wife in bed with an infant child, a nurse waiting upon her and the young husband preparing his toilet to go up town. The young man protested the imputation that influenza existed in the home but the officer nailed up the card with pi the promise to investigate the report fully to see if a mistake had been made. A snort time thereafter, the officer saw the doctor and asked who had the flu in the home and was advised that the young man himself had a temperature that very morning way above normal. The officer made a cuick return to the home but found the husband gone and loca.ed him later at the home of a relative. He was taken to his home and cautioned in no uncertain terms not to leave the premises again. And then some people dame the Health Board because of the continuance of the pestilence. r -- Entertainment Thp Watkins Press Next week Mr. ami Mrs. Forbes will entertain their parents on both sides. We are heartily in accord with the views of most of the public press relative to the soldier boys retaining their uniforms after being mustered out of the service. The regulations provide that the men must return their uniforms witiiin four months after being discharged and if the boys wear their army clothes that length of time after coming home, they will not he worth very much to the government. Besides, the worn clothes would undoubtedly be heaped up and sold at public auction, if returned, and it seems to us that no one is co such entitled to them as the boys who have been wearing them.
