Before the close of the week, the city reservoirs will be connected up with the new municipal water supply at Hailing spring in Mantua and Brigham City will forever say goodby to its culinary water troubles. The long looked for pipe to complete the line arrived last Friday and Saturday and a force of men Is now hard at work completing the line in the two or three places where the pipe ran out. The spring is connected up and water is flowing through the new line as far as the street crossing near the bridge in Mantua where the water leaves the line and flows down into the creek. The spring is covered over and the brick work of the weir house is now being completed. The housing of the Olsen spring is also going ahead nicely and will be completed in a few days. It is anticipated that the work will be all completed before the end of the present week so that the water can be turned in and the people of this city can at last have clean, pure water without any fear of mud whenever it rains and absolutely no fear of contamination. It is proposed to wash out the reservoirs thoroughly before the clean spring water is turned in so that the supply in the city pipes will be pure when the connection is made. In as much as this is an event of such tremendous importance to this community, the turning on of the water will of be done to the accompaniment appropriate ceremonies of a public nature, if present plans do not miscarry. As to the new water system, numerous Individuals from various cities and towns of the state have visited the spring during the past two weeks and pronounce the water supply the very finest in the state.
