Wight, one of our oldest residents and a highly respected citizen, died suddenly Thursday night about ten oclock from the efHe had fects of Brights disease. been suffering from this malady for a long time past, and while the family was concerned about his health, the end was not looked for so soon. He died almost without warning. JlHiiam Lewis Wight was a son of Lewis Wight, one of the pioneers. He was born while the family w'ere on their way to Utah, at a camp on what was then known as Little Pigeon Creek, the present site of Council Bluffs. He was brought to Utah hy his parents who settled in West Jordan at Whites Ford. In the fall of 1855 they moved to Brigham City, where he has ever since made his home. On Nov. 16, 1874, he married Sarah Melissa Watkins. Nine children were born to them, seven of- whom are still living, two girls and five hoys. Mr. Wight was well and favorably known in this part of the state and in Idaho. He was for many years a prominent sheep man, ifas been in the mercantile business . was the owner of a large fruit farm near this city, and was at the time of his death. The community suffers a great loss in- - his death, and we join in expressing our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. - There was a profusion of flowers contributed, and a long procession of carriages which followed the remains to the cemetery. FUNERAL SERVICES. Funeral services were held in the First ward meeting house last Saturday morning over the remains of Willie Horsley who died Thursday morning. During the morning there were hosts of friends called at the house to view the body and to contribute flowers, of which there was Schoolmates in the an abundance.
