Next Saturday both the Re- publicans and Democrats will hold their county conventions in this city, the former at the court house and the latter at the opera house. The purpose of each is elect delegates to the state, senatorial and judicial conventions. to For State Auditor John A. Edwards, the county treasurer, has yielded to the solicitations of his friends and has announced himself as a candidate for the position of state auditor on the Republican ticket. Mr. Edwards bas the endorsement of the county committee for this position and the support of a great number of friends In this and other counties. Whether or not he will be successful lu getting the nomi nation, Box Elder County Is entitled to It and no one Is more worthy or more capable of assuming the duties of that office than is Mr. Edwards. During the two terms he has held the office of county treasurer he has strictly attended to his duties and has given the best of satisfaction. He has been honest and unassuming and his accounts have always been in good shape.
