A publio meeting was held In the afternoon at Stones, and Immediately afterwards .a priesthood meeting was held at which the names. of Thus. W. Roe, to act as bishop of Stone ward, with John Sparks as first and Hulhert B Robbins as second counsellor, were selected. In the evening the names were presented to the people and were accepted and sustained. Brother John Sparks was formerly the presiding elder in the branch aud Brother Thos. W, Roe was Sunday school superintendent. They were both honorably released upon their select ion to the new offices. Brother W. V. Bundersen was made Sunday school superintendent and he selected as his assistants the same men who had previously acted in that capacity with Bro. Roe. There are about thirty-fiv- e families in Stone and it was thought advisable to give them a ward organization. The authorities are quite optomistlo regarding the future of the new ward as a good spirit prevails and people are already agitating the building of a meeting house.
