Show THE SPANISH FORK PRESS, SPANISH FORK, UTAH About RE-ELEC- lou h T Smoot and Leatherwood Smoot and Leatherwood have kept faith with the voters of Utah. As members of the most important Congressional Committees they have succeeded in advancing Utah's interests and have won new prestige. All voters who have the welfare of Utah at heart are urged to retain the services of these men so that all of us may continue to enjoy the advantages they have gained for us. These men have loyally safeguarded the interests of the workers as well as the industries of Utah. They have at all times been vigilant and efficient in Utah's behalf. The protective tariff, more than any other factor, has been responsible for Utahs prosperity As Chairman of the important Senate Finance Committee, Senator Smoot has become the most powerful man in Congress. He is called upon to deal constantly with matters relating to revenues, taxation, the tariff, customs duties, foreign and domestic public debts, the Federal budget, Veterans Bureau legislation and public health service. He is also ranking member of the equally important Senate Committee on Appropriations and highly influential member of the following committees: Public Lands and Surveys, Reorganization of the Fed- eral Departments, Joint Committee on Printing, and other committees. Because of his extensive learning and experience In connection with Governmental finance and appropriations, President Coofidge designated Senator Smoot as the Senates representative on the American Debt Funding Commission, in which capacity, during the past four years, he has been instrumental in consummating the funding of the enormous debts which our former war allies owe us. Representative Leatherwood is Chairman of the Committee of Expenditures on Public Buildings of the House of Representatives, and as far as Utah and the West Is concerned, he is a ranking member of the equally important House Committee on Irrigation and Reclamation. Representative Leatherwood supported and voted for the Federal Aid Road Law, permitting construction of highways into every section of Utah. He has led the fight in protecting the rights of Utah in the Colorado River. He is also a member of the House Committee on Banking and Currency, and as a member of the Committee on Pensions has secured the passage of legislation beneficial to Indian War veterans. When the physician enters the sick-roothe first thing his trained eye encounters is the patient; the second observation follows instantly the position of the invalid in bed. Physicians know from experience, that the sick man who persistently lies on his back is, nine times out of ten, in a serious condition; the patient who lies on his side comfortably is tha more favorable case. If you have a child who sleeps on his back the dorsal position continually, you had better take him to your family physician for a painstaking examination. If ono can and docs lie on either ride by preference, Instead of on tha back, the chances are that he has no organic disease of at least four of his principal, vital orguns. It has been a pleasing sight to me many hundreds of times when, at the morning visit, I found my case, or acute fever-cas- e of any kind, snugly on his right side with his knees drawn up cosily. The position told me almost as much os the thermometer and the stethoscope. The position of choice, for healthful sleep is, the right side; a posture that permits drainage from tha stomach, and, allows free double-pneumon- heart-moveme- ia nt The adult female should rlucp side, with the upper ! flexed toward the abdomen-low- er tion, as Grandpa does, in a cD- is not good practice.
