Mer- - rill, chairman of publicity of the Timpanogos District Council, returned Monday from a scouting trip to Bryce Canyon and the intermediate points, where they went to lay out a route for the Scout caravan which will leave Santaquin on the morning of June 2nd. The two officials report that the road from and to Bryce Is In excellent condition, although the snow on the mountain tops prevented their going over the new Cedar Breaks road. They went through Bear Val- -, ley to Paragoonad and thence to Cedar City. Executive Anderson declares that the caravan this year is to be much larger than that of last year, and even more interesting. Several possible routes have been selected, any one of which will be historically in- lO . ; ' ', V, 0 . This five days going and coming. will give the boys time to see more of the country and will make it much easier on the car and truck drivers than the trip was last year. Since the Scouts are to take their own bedding and cook their own meals the expense will be comparatively light. All the towns along the road will welcome the Scouts back. In several of them Indian war veterans and experienced pioneers are waiting for the arrival of the caravan to tell the boys stories first hand of thrilling early day experiences. Pioneer relics of various kinds will be visited to and from Bryce. Practically every mile of road will have its historical tale that will make the trip educational as well as interesting. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Merrill were accompanied by their wives. They took a side trip to Zion Canyon and in all covered about ,j00 miles. te II. I. G.TD SV-w- X 4 4 M. C. Ashley of Wood-bridgN.
