To Mayor Jex Concerning the Water of Our City, Salt Lake, Feb. 19, 1002. To 11. C. Jex, Mayor, Spanish Fork, Utah: Dear Sir At the last meeting of the State Board of Health the, Secretary was instructed to communi-cat- e with the authorities of various towns relative to the subject of pure water supply, urging them where feasible to adopt a system capable of furnishing for domestic purposes, water which is free from dangerous impurities such ns exist in surface wells and open ditches. In compliance with a request of the board, the State Engineer furnish a list of towns in which in his oponion such action is feasible, and SpanishFork is among these named, In as much as water used for domestic purposes m that place is derived from surface wells and ditches which are a direct menace to the health of the inhabitants and largely responsible for the prevalence of typhoid fever and other diseases, we would strongly urge you to consider the matter of establishieg a water system from a source that will insure its purity and wholesomensss. Ths State Engineer has expressed his willingness to meet and confer with the authorities if desired as will also the Secretary of the Board. Will you kindly giye this your careful attention and an early reply and oblige. Respectfully, T. B. BsAtTf. If we read the 25tH chapter of Exodus, w find the Jews had candlesix with sticks constructed branches attached in a circle around the main stem; and we earn from the 87th verse of this chapter these candlesticks had seven lamps, giving seVeU lights. AnJ according to history and best evidences of the Bible, the light on he mam stem id the center of the circle represented the sun. We ind all the sacred numbers, the sun, moon and star3, mentioned in such connections throughout the 3ible. It does hot leave a doubt n the mind of intelligent readers of the fact that the religion of Moses was sun, moon and star worship; and the gods of the Jews represented the various parts and functions of nature the same as the gods of all other nations. The science of astrology, now called astronomy, grew out of sun, moon and star worship. The sun, moon and planets bear their deistical names to this day. Ned Don.
