Lazarus, delegate from the Tenth congressional district of Missouri, "but U his name is placed before the Democratic convention he will receive the solid support of the Missouri delegates. He 'was beaten out of the nomination eight years ago and certainly is entitled to support. He is a big man and one who is reliable, progressive and safe. His record Is absolutely clear and he would make a good run If nominated. Mr. Lazarus, who is a member of the board of directors of the Frisco system, arrived in Salt Lake yesterday morning He with his --family on his private car. came here over the Oregon Short Line over Los and left last night the Angeles A Salt lake for Los Angelea While here he called upon various railroad officials and attended an organ recital in the tabernacle. "Robert I Owen, senator from Oklahoma, is another strong man," Mr. Lazarus added. "There hasnt been much said about him lately and he may be Intended for a dark home,' but I should be glad to vote for him for president. But we have many strong men in our party. Governor Cox of Ohio la a big man, and if MuAdoo is kept out of the race, wll make a strong run for the nomination. "The Missouri delegation, headed by Governor Frederick D. Gardner, leaves St. Louis this evening and will leave Kansas City tomorrow. It should be here Thursday. A great many Missourians will be on the special train, besides the delegates, and you will know when they get to Salt Lake. I dont know how the delegation will go generally, except with reference to Champ Clark. We are not instructed. I left my home In St. Louis in time to take my family down to Santa BarcAra, where I shall, leave them, and then to get to the scene of the big show by Friday." Mr. Lasarue said yesterday that he was opposed to the league of nations When asked regarding the wet plank in the plat, form, he said that he was in favor of upholding the supreme court in its decision. "X anticipate some lively times in San Francisce, said Mr. Iazarus. "but hope that all of the gape will be bridged over all right. If there isnt too much of a fight out there over prohibition, the league of nations and other such subjects, ws should be able to carry the country tor Democracy- - this fall.
