Baseball for next LOGAN, Sept. year has been th subject of much discussion and argument to th pit town which supported .clubs In th Cache Valley league for the past twa year. Last Friday tha officer and directors of th league met for the purpose of discussing th matter, and it developed that, ia aptte of many difficulties, each club Is strong for the league and prill be playing again next season. The high cost of baseball Players cor respond to the high aoat of living, aapa dally tn the bush leagues, thwhere no various strong organisation protact clubs, and this has been discovered by the tram of the Cache Valley league. The coat of operating the clube during the past season wai tremendous and cannot be repeated again another season. For thio reason there ha been much doubt since tha season ended whether or not the lame organisation would continue to exist. From a canvas of opinions it seems evident that fans wilt have baseball at any cost. Kouf of the duba of th Wasatch league have been trying to Induce a couple of the Cacha Valley league teams ta enter Into an organisation with them for the next pleylng season. For the purpose of discussing this project, a meeting will b held at Ogden tomorrow night, hen representatives from Logan, 8mtthf!ld, BrigOgden and ham City, Tramonton-Oarlaa- d, Layton will talk over the poaatbUtty of a pew league. All the team of the Cache dreuit have Affirmed their loyalty to their awn organisation and in caa th new league thIs organised. It w III b because some of Cache valley dub, who have bean members of th organisation th last two years, drop out and do not com tn ter baseball in 1931. The Bmlthfleld champions of 1933 havi now disbanded, after plating, an indeFalla dub pendent series with the Idaho River league. of the Yellowatone-Bnak- k This was not a regular championship series with the Yellowstone winners, but teams from thas id by. two places. The reason that th regular series beiwssn the two league winners was not played this yaar was because a winner In th Yellowstone league waa not decided upon. Both Idaho Falls and Rexburg claim the title and a number of player of both clubs left th conclusion of th season to play In th tournament at Denver, so that neither club could claim tha title. However, th Smithfleld club has demonstrated Its suth periority over the others by winning great majority of games played, both In the league and with winner of ether leagues, and also In Independent barnstorming ventures. - Special to I.
