Pratt, operator at the- - A. & P. telegraph office, received a dispatch informing her of the death of her father at Boston. Last night she received a letter giving the particulars of the sad affair. Mr. Pratt was on bis and way west to join bis children, intended to make his future home in California. While crossing the ferry at from the boat and Eat Boston he wa drowned. His remains were taken back to Freeport, Maine, for interment. The death of a father is sad under any circumstances, but in this case it Is doubly so, being caued by accident and coming in place of the anticipated pleasure of meeting with her father soon.
