The people all along the line are waking up to the importance of the project, and are detei mined that the read shall be completed. The Montanian urges upon their people the importance of taking, hold of the railroad enterprises themselves and aiding tha construction of the roads into their Territory. It is to bo hoped that Government will give the slight aid that is asked. It will show a gross favoritism if they do not, after having done so much for other roads. Is the hesitation caused by the factthat the load is not a New England enterprise? It would seem as if the Government bad been run in the sole interest of New England speculators about long enough, and that the interests of the agricultural and mining population of the great West should no longer he entirely ignored. Their industries have been fostered and we have been and are constantly taxed in the shape of protective tariffs to fill their greedy purses, while our great needs are utterly neglected. Just as long s our westera people are contented te remain servants and lackeys to those fellhws, just so long we deserve no better position than that of secend fiddle to them. We hope te see the people hero and all along the line of the road take up tho matter and knock away at the doors ef Congress until we convince them that there is a West and that it means business. all foems of Tip ATS f Sisson . b.
