Show 6 WEDNESDAY AUGUST 31, 2016 Movie Mondays: The reviews you didn’t know you needed GABE CERRITOS | The Signpost MAC WALKER Carson Fackrell, a senior in sales, aims for making it to the gym seven days a week, but knows he might only make it five. A&E Editor I love movies, so much so that I frequent movie theaters more than the average person — three to four times a week to be exact. Because of this, I hope you’ll join me this semester as I write a weekly review of my favorite movie of the week. Now some of you might ask what qualifies me to review a movie. The answer is quite simple, and it begins with the aforementioned fact that I go to the movies a lot. But what is more important than me simply seeing a movie is being able to provide you, the reader, with something they can’t find somewhere else. Because of this, I will not review the movies that everyone is already planning on seeing. Instead, I am going to review for you MY favorite films. This leads to another question: Why should you TNS Side effects of Signpost movie reviews may include an excess consumption of popcorn and other concessions; this publication claims no responsibility. care about which movie is my favorite? I am just an average college student, like many of you. No one is paying me the big bucks to give some big hit two thumps up. Because of this, I venture to say my taste is comparable to many of you reading this. I’m not a snob, nor a professional. I’m just your friendly neighborhood Arts and Entertainment desk editor. So, as you go on this journey with me, there are some things you should expect from me. Although my weekly reviews will be editorialized, they will be jam-packed with facts — perhaps some opinions that I spin as fact. They will also be full of fun and adventure. They may even get a little gushy. But most importantly, they’re sure to nail your funny bone. In other words, I won’t limit my reviews to one genre that only a niche audience will enjoy. I’ll be covering everything. If one week my review doesn’t tickle your fancy, come back the next to discover what movie I’ve picked. Seeing as there are only so many new movies that come out each week, I might have to review a movie that has been out for a week or so, but it’s my hope that each week Hollywood gives me something great to watch. I also would appreciate your involvement. If there’s a movie you’d like me to review, let me know. I’ll go see it, and if it turns out to be my favorite of the week, then there’ll be a review by the week’s end. WARREN’S BURGERS Warren’s Burgers can be found under two different names across the Ogden area: Warren’s Burgers and Dylan’s Drive-in. At either location, they have a limited supply of specialty drinks. But unlike the first two, their drinks are not their primary focus. Because of this, they have limited options that taste no different than buying a drink from a fast food place with a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. SONIC Recently, Sonic opened up a franchise in Ogden on Washington Blvd. For years, Sonic has marketed itself as the ultimate drink stop, and they have definitely lived up to this hype. They don’t offer the Italian creme sodas that the first two offer — although they did offer them for a limited time, so it could potentially return — but they definitely have their own specialty drinks that are on par with these unique concoctions. From just a simple examination of the soda bars available right here in Ogden, it is safe to say that Utah has found a replacement for alcohol and that’s in these bubbly concoctions.
