The project descriptions provide general information: overall scope, basic traffic control measures and anticipated completion dates. Some projects are not included due to their short time table or lesser impact on traffic. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather conditions, equipment problems or emergency situations. Southeastern Utah: Grand: half-mil- e tion: from MP 95 to 165 (Guardrail Replacement) Project includes the replacement of guardrail. Traffic will be intermittently open to one lane in each direction with work crews working near the shoulder of the roadway in work zones. Motor- ists can expect minimum delays and should watch for workers and heavy equipment in the area. Expected comple- June 2005. from MP 214 to 221 Project includes a roto-mil- l, overlay and chip seal of a seven-mil- e section of road. As of April 11, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a reduced speed limit of 65 mph. Motorists can expect minimum delays and should watch for workers and heavy equipment in the area. Expected completion: June 2005. San Juan: U.S. 191 from MP 59-6- 2 (Devils Canyon) Project includes the total reconstruction and widening of U.S. 191 through a three-mil- e section known as Devils Canyon. The project will cut the hills down, bring the dips up, and add passing lanes and turn lanes. Crews are currently excavating the new roadway and intermittently blasting the slopes. Traffic is restricted to one lane in alternating directions with delays of up to 15 minutes. Longer delays are possible during blasting operations. Expected completion: October 2005. Emery: U.S. Highway 6 from MP 288 to 300 (Pavement Rehabilitation): This project includes a recycling of existing pavement. Crews started working on the project April 4 and will keep one lane open for hot-in-pla- traffic in alternating directions as directed by flaggers and pilot cars. Crews will work Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During those hours, motorists should expect moderate delays of up to 15 minutes. Expected completion: June 2005. State Route 10 Muddy Creek Bridge Replacement (North of Emery) Project includes the replacement of a bridge over Muddy Creek north of Emery. Crews will begin work on a temporary bridge May 2. For about six weeks, traffic will be reduced to one lane in alternating directions as directed by flaggers and pilot cars. Crews will work Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During those hours, motorists should expect moderate delays of up to 15 minutes. One lane in each direction will open when the temporary bridge is complete. A reduced speed limit of 35 mph will be in effect through project completion. Expected completion: September 2005. Carbon: U.S. 6 from Price to Wellington Project includes widening of U.S. 6 from two lanes to four. Crews are currently excavating the roadway bed and paving. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with occasional lane closures as directed by flaggers. Motorists should watch for workers and equipment in the area and expect occasional delays for truck crossings. Expected completion: June 2005. U.S. Highway 6 from MP 258 to 261 (Passing Lane) Project includes addition of a passing lane. Crews are currently paving the road with one lane of traffic open in each direction with minimum delays. Expected completion: Summer 2005. U.S. Highway 6 at Sunnyside Junction Includes the widening of a bridge on U.S. 6 near Sunnyside Junction. Crews are currently working on the shoulder areas of the road with one lane of traffic open in each direction with minimum delays. Expected completion: Fall 2005.
