Arguing that low growth isnt much better than no growth, an aggressive new Moab Area Travel Council board wants to invest in an partner and a new brochure to try to beef up Grand ad-agen- cy Countys tourism revenues, and it got tentative support from the county council on Feb 17. After looking at promotional materials for scores of resort towns, board members led by Sorrel River Ranch owner Robbie Levin and Cloudrock promoter Michael Liss agreed that the Moab area isnt doing enough to sell itself to potential visitors. The council made the request after some developers complained that existing proce- dures sometimes delayed project approval for weeks or months.
