An officer was dispatched to an east side location on a report of some people fighting inside a motor home. The officer located the motor home and was advised by a female that a subject, who she knew, was trying to take her motor home, but he came back and everything was okay, and that she didnt need an officer. A neighbor in the area pointed the officer in the right direction and he was able to locate the owners father who came and gathered up the offending mutts. Peace was returned to the area and the neighbors were able to go to sleep. A theft report was filed. The RP advised that 110 compact discs had been stolen from her parked. 100599, A west side resident called and reported that her dogs were barking and they normally dont bark. It was 12:30 a.m. and the RP (Reporting Party) wanted an officer to check the area. The responding officer checked the area and was unable to find anything suspicious. It was noted that there was a strong odor left behind by a skunk. An officer was dispatched to a Main Street business on a report of an alarm. The officer discovered that one of the employees had forgotten to turn the alarm off when he entered the business. A visitor reported that she understand. An officer received a written report on a lost wallet. The RP advised that a wallet was lost sometime in the late spring or -- -- the RPs social security number to open accounts at other banks and that perhaps the wallet had been stolen. An east side RP reported that a vehicle had gotten close to his parked car and almost hit it. The officer wrote an almost hit and run report. 100799, An officer was dispatched to a convenience store on a report of two individuals who had bought some beer and were now hanging out on the side of the building. The store clerk wanted them asked to leave the area. The responding officer located the two and discovered that they were two passengers in a vehicle which had been impounded and the driver arrested on DUI charges a couple of hours earlier. The officer told them that they were not welcome there any longer. They told the officer that they were waiting for a ride. The officer spoke with the clerk and got them twenty more minutes before he would come back and chase them off. Well, the officer came back twenty minutes later and found that not only were they still there, they were inside the store and they had drank a bunch of the beer. A juvenile problem was dealt with. The RP, the leader of a youth group visiting Moab, met with an officer at a local campground. The RP told the officer that a couple of the kids had sneaked away last night, and then again on this date.
