Air show gates open to the public at 8 a.m. and events begin at 9 a.m. Aerial acts will be performed throughout the day, with the featured act, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Team, starting 2:30 p.m. The air show is scheduled to end around 5 p.m. To help smooth the flow of traffic, the 75th Security Forces Squadron has asked visitors to use the following gates: Visitors arriving from the south Layton, Kaysville, Salt Lake City should use the South Gate. Take Hill Field Road and Layton Hills Exit 334 Mall exit; Exit 335 - Antelope Drive Eastbound to Hill Field Road; or Exit 336 - State Road 193 d to Hill Field Road and the South Gate. 1-- 15 east-boun- Visitors coming from the North Clearfield, Sunset, Roy, Ogden should use the Roy or West Gates. Use Exit 338 the Hill AFB West Gate at 650 North in Clearfield; or exit 341 the Roy Gate at 5600 South in Roy. Additionally, access to the South Gate may be gained by using U.S. Highway 89 and going westbound at State Road 193. Primary parking will be on the 388th Fighter Wing aircraft ramp, just west of the air show site. Drivers will be directed to the area and signs will be posted along the route. When this lot fills up, secondary lots will be used along the travel routes toward the South and West Gates. "Drivers will be directed by Security Forces," said CMSgt. George Bovell, 75th Security Forces Squadron. "There will be people at every intersection to move the traffic along." The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron is an Air Combat Command unit comprised of eight pilots six are demonstration pilots four support officers, two civilians and 127 enlisted people performing in more than 27 different career fields. The program is a mix of six aircraft, performing formation flying and solo routines. The pilots perform approximately 30 maneuvers in the demonstration, which runs approximately one hour and 15 minutes. The squadron performs no more than 88 demonstrations each year and has never cancelled a performance due to maintenance difficulty.
