Ford Hilltop Times it staff For more than a year, the Hill Sports Medicine Clinic has been helping all branches of the military recover from sports trauma and nagging overuse syndromes. Twisted or sprained ankles, carpal tunnel syndrome and tears of the knee's anterior cruciate ligament, these and other injuries comprise just another typical day at the clinic. "The most common things we see are shoulder and knee injuries or overuse syndromes," said Capt. Timothy Mazzola, a family practice doctor who works at the clinic. "That means someone who has chronic pain in a joint without any significant trauma. They use it a lot in their jobs or recre- ation. They can't point to it and say they slammed it against a wall or anything of that nature." Located in the basement of the Hill Clinic, Bldg. 570, the Sports Medicine Clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-- p.m. They focus on joint problems such as those involving the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hands, hip, knee, ankle and foot.
