She died on Oct. 14, 1993. They were married for 54 years. He was a rancher and farmer in San Juan County and at Egnar and Loma, Colorado, and spent many years in the Indian Service, from which he retired in 1976. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, Clea Peacock and Iva Hatch; two Allan Adams and Fred Adams, and two Florence Adams and Myrtle Hunt. away in 1965. His survivors include his Wife, Helen, of Arizona; his daughters Harriet Sullivan of Palifornia, Anna Bailey of pawaii, Lynda Catron of Moab, and Jo Ellen Walker of , rizona; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. After marrying Jim and raising 5 children, she attended college for 2 years. She entered the work force in sales and has been in sales for the past 13 years. Mr. Giese died at his home on Desert Road Saturday, June 3, 1995. He was bom June 15, 1924 in Sterling, Colorado, a son of John Henry and Geraldine (Hayes) Giese. . He married Betty L. Carmichael on Oct. 19, 1946. Mr. Giese worked as an automobile and truck mechanic for many years, and for a time ran Desert Auto. A veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War ii, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping, particularly spending time with his grand and great grandchil- dren. He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Yvonne (Bob) Colclasure and Pamela (Juan) Olivas of Elko, Nev.; Melvin (Artha) of American Falls, Chipps and Raymond (Pam) Ida.; of Great Falls, Chipps -- two and sisters, Montana; brothers Donna Rae Scharyl, Denver, Colo.; and Lorraine Carlson of Maple Valley, Wash. He is also survived by five grand- children and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Valley, under the direction of Pastor Wayne Eklund of the First Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Summers was proprietor of the Hyland Hotel in Monticello for 40 years. Friends may call at the family home in Monticello at 116 South 100 North on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the LDS Stake Center in Monticello. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning. Interment will be in the Monticello City Cemetery.
