Mention in the Beyond Park Boundaries category to Scott Hirschi, Director of State School Trust Lands, finds the award in keeping with conclusions of a discussion at the Partnership's last meeting in April. State Parks and Wildlife recourses integrate safety, courtesy and respect for natural conditions. BLM programs include all these aspects. Mindful of their obligations to be independent of powerful interests, the Partners took note when Bill Redd admonished them about the taint that follows money. He states that coming up with new acts and jokes each year is also a challenge. Bullfighting and clowning around is only one side to Johnson's life. He also works as an auctioneer and has owned and 'Johnson's operated Taxidermy' for over twenty years, receiving numerous awards in state and world com- petitions. In 1983 Johnson tried out for the Denver Gold of the USFL Football League, and was a professional Bass and Walleye fisherman sponsored by Lowrance Electronics. Johnson's motto is, "No pain, no gain; no guts, no glory".
