Halls Crossing fuel leak causes concern for NPS The National Park Service was notified on Tuesday, June 5 that a fuel leak had been discovered in a fiberglass line running from an underground gasoline storage facility, originally installed in 1980, to the Halls Crossing Marina gas dock on Lake Powell. The leak was located by Ron Suppington of Fuel Tec of St. George, Utah, who was doing consulting work for ARA Leisure Services, owner of the fuel storage facilities after discrepancies in fuel salcs-fu- cl st Salt Lake City, will be assessing the situation and making recommendations to ARA on how to best cleanup the site and remove contaminated soil. According to Acting Superintendent, Larry May, the site of the leak is 90 vertical feet and 500 linear feet from Lake Powell and no fuel had entered the lake. He added, "We look forward to prompt replacement of the fuel storage and delivery facility with new, equipment that will be more effective at protecting the park's environment." state-of-the-a- rt purchase records were noted.
