Parents need some relief, yet regular child care arrangements often do not fit their childs needs. The program is looking for anyone interested in the needs of special children who have some time available to offer this special care. Sheldon Hefner has two basic statements as Council candidate: As a City Councilman, a major emphasis would be to monitor all areas of city government to obtain maximum effectiveness within budget restraints. We need city law enforcement adequate to meet local needs. We need clear prioritization and planning in the department of streets, grounds, water sewer, and parks & recreation. Roles within Moab City Administration need to be examined, evaluated and defined for most efficient use of elected officials and others holding the public trust. & Responsiveness to the wishes of the people is foremost in my mind. Local government should not be overbearing, but must be responsive to local needs. The same is true of taxes; fiscal responsibility starts here in Moab. City officials should be accessible to citizens to discuss their questions, concerns and suggestions. Moab City and Grand County officials must work together in a cooperative spirit. I want to work as your City Councilman and think I can be effective in accomplishing what must be done.
