The Hanksville team was defeated last Wednesday by Bicknell. 13-1- The Hanksville Senior Citizens met Friday at the Long Rider Cafe for a meeting with Dr. Taggert . by Gil Yoder Friday night soon after 10:00 lightning struck at the Doxol plant north of Moab. A large intense fire resulted. The fire destroyed some electrical equipment and left the entire valley without lights. Several campers at the nearby campground were severely injured; one eight year old child lost his life. Even before the official evacuation of around 2,000 people, many took it upon themselves to flee south of the city. We do not wish to belittle the events of last Friday night (many people were legitimately frightened), however the fire and darkness of that night were insignificant, when compared to the fire and darkness of the coming eternal night (Jude 13)! Jesus said that after He comes in His glory He would sit on the throne of glory and judge between the people. Those who have failed to serve Him would be cast into the everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels, where is outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 24:30, 41). Sorrowfully most of the worlds population is doomed to endure everlasting fire and darkness (Matt. 7&13). It was not difficult for the pople of Moab to do the right thing in regard to last weeks temporal crisis. Why is it so difficult to do the right thing in regard to the eternal crisis of the future?
