During the two weekends of competition, a total of 57 teams participated. First place in the womens A division went to Standard Optical of Salt Lake City. Second was taken by the Utah Bees, also of Salt Lake. Third went to B & B Drilling of Grand Junction and fourth place to the First Security Moonshiners of Moab. Members of the A division team from Moab included Marie Packer and Diane Lagoon. In the B division, first place was taken by the Bluejays of Salt Lake all-st- ar City; second went to Central Bank to Davis Merchants of Syracuse. Moab team members included Arcie Jaramillo and Sirley Nelson. In the C division, the Legionettes from Palisade won first place; U.S. all-st- ar Fuel from Price took second. There was no third place in the C division. team members from Moab included Robin Snow, Linda Leech and Donna Clement. At a meeting of the Moab Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, June 26, it was reported that from the tournament income totalled $5,430. Expenses amounted to $4,760. Gate receipts, at $2.50 a ticket amounted to $1,725.50 Chamber members expressed their appreciation to Linda Nicols and the other organizers for a smoothly-ru- n All-st- of Provo and third ar lost control of his 1974 Mustang II while attempting to pass another vehicle. Witnesses stated that Brannan was traveling at a high rate of speed when he pulled out to pass a slower car, then attempted to pull back in after spotting a truck travelling in the other direction. The car rolled lVt times, ejecting Brannan out the left door. He was dead when officers arrived. A passenger in a 1976 AMC Jeep was killed in a rollover accident on Highway 163 one mile south of Blanding at 7:40 p.m. Friday, June 22. The victim was identified as Robert Mason, 26, of Bluff. A trooper who investigated the accident stated that the Jeep, driven by Lanette Martinez, 25, of was southBlanding, bound on 163 when Martinez attempted to pass on the right a car which was turning left. The Jeep left the road to the right and rolled, ejecting Mason, Martinez and Aubrey Patterson, 26, also of Blanding. Both Martinez and Patterson were injured in the rollover. Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $2,000. Martinez was cited for improper passing. Other charges are pending, a Highway Patrol spokesman said.
