Show 14. Sunday. Aprfl Firk gjoirOs A couple of championships and "some good depth" paid off for Spanish Fork's girls as they won the Tirnpanogos Invitational track and field meet Saturday. The Donas eased past Box Elder Judge was third with 79 with Timpview fourth at 70. Woods Cross had 66 to round out the top five. Box Elder ran away with the boys' title, scoring 169 points. with Woods Cross was runner-u122 while Judge had 102, Spanish Fork 48 and Cyprus 43. The 4A Invitational at Timpview High School drew approxiof the eligible mately schools. "This was a big win for us," said Spanish Fork coach Chris Caviness. "It was bad weather, but we survived." Snow flurries, biting cold and gusty winds made things miserable for athletes and spectators alike. "To come away with this is a little bit of a surprise," Caviness said of the Donas' victory. "I figured East would be at the meet instead of in Arcadia (Calif.) and I thought Logan would be there. We knew Box Elder would be tough. "With those teams away, I'm not ready to say we're the best team in the state," Caviness added. Winners for the Donas included Rachel Campbell in the javelin 110-10- Sraick teamra r " . ., -- i,-- '.
