Now the police union is suing a defunct rock group that used the officer as image of a gunned-dow- n advertising. Police staged the photograph for use on a g poster. It showed an officer lying sprawled, bloodied and presumably dead next to a police cruiser, with the shadow of a gun falling across the photo. An emblem on the open door read "Philadelphia Police." The caption read: "Citizens ... You wouldn't sacrifice your life for a million bucks. A Philadelphia police officer does it for a lot less. They Need Your Support!" The band, whose name is an obscene variation on the word "Crucifix," illustrated its 1992 album cover with a photo the same in every detail, except it said "Lansing Police," the lawsuit said. fund-raisin- WJ "..
