Show Nfc A2 - THE DAILY HI RAl D, Prow, Utah, Tuesday, October 27. I Hope in heroism springs eternal with Sen. John Glenn; Not long ago, I questioned who we sought as heroes and whether we needed them. I bring this up because I actually had heroes as a kid and this week's news is focused on one. There really was something I wanted to be when I grew up. No, I'm not talking about Hurricane Mitch, though I do envy its path in the western Caribbean. And I am quite proud that it's the strongest storm of the season, surpassing my friend's Hurricane Fran of a few years ago. (We're in a kind of disaster rotisserie league.) I'm actually thinking about John Glenn: Fighter pilot. Test pilot. Astronaut. Soft drink executive. Senator. who wonder what orbit my head is in.) While there's sound science behind Glenn's trip, it wouldn't really matter if it was just a public relations stunt. Festival of Ghoul bugs exorcised LEHI The reports of the Festival of Ghoul's demise were greatly exaggerated. Paul Eddington, Thanksgiving Point's marketingcommunications manager, said the bugs that plagued Friday's opening night performance of the Halloween festival have, for the most part, been exorcised. "Friday night was the first night, and he had problems here, there and everywhere," Eddington said. A big part of the problem was the fact that some features of the event weren't fully set up by opening night. The festival runs through Saturday night. The children's section is open from p.m., while the adult area is open 4-- 9 from 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 11 and younger.
