Show Page 1 2 - THl DAILY HERALD, Provo, Ulah, Saturday. October 24, IVW Readers give Hcloise some 'bark9 on doss Dear Readers: I recent- printed a hint about how we fixed the doggie door that our miniature ly Savvi and all three run through the yard chasing squirrels and barking at the deer that nibble on my roses. So, if you think the "boys," who are both neutered, feel left out, I can assure you they are happy as any two buddies could be. IIXLFrUl i::.TT3 schnauzer, Savvi, uses so J.D., one of our outside dogs, couldn't wiggle through. Well, several readers have taken me to task for allegedly treating J.D. badly. Mary H. from Hagerstown, Md.: Why is S.J. Brazelton of Texas wrote: It seems so wrong to me that you treat one dog like royalty, with all the comforts of home, and the other one like a junkyard dog, making him stay outside in all this heat. For shame, Ueloise. And, finally, S. Scher of Maryland: I was dumbfounded and absolutely appalled by your letter to the readers suggesting how to keep a large dog out of the house while allowing a smaller dog free access. You've created a jealousy, an animosity no-ki- between them and against you. It's unfair, inhumane and unconscionable, especially to allow access to one pet and deny the other. You shouldn't have either one. One letter stands for another. In this sample A b used for the three L X for the two 0 etc. Single letters, apostrophes, the length and formation of the words are all hints. Each day the code letters art different ting closer! I had a problem with my house numbers showing up clearly on the rock exterior of my house. I had three large potted plants on my front porch, and it dawned on me that those pots could solve my problem. I purchased house numbers at the hardware store, the kind of numbers that reflect light and have adhesive on the back. Presto! The numbers look great from the street, night or day, and you would be amazed how many people have asked me if they could Colegate copy my idea. Wotton, San Angelo, Texas Well, may inform all of you who care that our beloved J.D. (a golden retriever mix) is not ignored or alone. He is joined outside by his buddy, Black Jack (a black Labgreyhound), who was adopted from the Animal Defense League, the largest ll shelter in the Southwest. J.D. was dumped at our house and we happily welcomed him into our family with his own doghouse and a large covered patio with a ceiling fan.
